Research published this week in the journalNature estimates there are many more planets in the Milky Way galaxy than previously assumed.
The new research, conducted by the Institute of Astrophysics in Paris, estimates around 160 billions planets are circling stars in our home galaxy, the Milky Way, which is itself one of over 100 billion galaxies discovered.
The number is so large star that it means, on average, every star in the night sky has two planets circling it. If only .01 percent of those planets is habitable, then there may be 16 million planets other than Earth harboring life in this galaxy alone.

Discovery of the new planets is possible with the Kepler Space Observatory, which was launched in 2009.

Germany is falling behind the curve within all major Western democracies when it comes to the release of official UFO files. While the United States, Great Britain, France, Canada, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Denmark, among other NATO countries, have declassified a substantial amount of official UFO documents, Germany has done no such thing, maintaining officially that no federal agencies have investigated UFOs.

But things may change after a hearing of the Berlin Administrative Court of December 1 brought about by a German citizen, Frank Reitemeyer, who wants to gain access to a confidential study prepared by the Research Services of the Department of Science and Foreign Relations of the German Bundestag (Federal Parliament). “I’ve never seen a UFO,” said Reitemeyer to the German N-TV network, but he is convinced the German government has long known about unidentified flying objects.

UFO researchers Richard Dolan and Bryce Zabel have created an official White House petition asking the government to “Investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomena as Reported by Citizens, Police, Astronauts, Pilots and the Military”:

Searching for microbes on Mars and radio signals from space is not enough. We must explain Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAP, right here on Earth.

For six decades worldwide, credible witnesses (including Presidents Carter and Reagan) have consistently described objects with flight capabilities beyond our technology. UAP are often verified by radar and even seen at nuclear sites by military officers.

Given the national security implications, the United States should conduct an independent investigation. This inquiry must transparently review the key unsolved UAP reports with access to classified documents. It must have the power to call witnesses and grant immunity.

The findings should be publicly presented.

White House: There’s no sign of E.T. or UFO cover-up

The White House has responded to two petitions asking the U.S. government to acknowledge formally that aliens have visited Earth and to disclose any intentional withholding of government interactions with extraterrestrial beings.

“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race,” Phil Larson from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy reported on the WhiteHouse.gov website.”In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye.”

The petition calling on the government to disclose any knowledge of or communication with extraterrestrial beings was signed by 5,387 people, and 12,078 signed the request for a formal acknowledgement from the White House that extraterrestrials have been engaging the human race.

“Hundreds of military and government agency witnesses have come forward with testimony confirming this extraterrestrial presence,” the second petition states. “Opinion polls now indicate more than 50 percent of the American people believe there is an extraterrestrial presence and more than 80 percent believe the government is not telling the truth about this phenomenon. The people have a right to know. The people can handle the truth.”

UFO At NFL Game: TV Camera Captures Strange Object In Flight During Broadcast

For many football fans who watched the New Orleans Saints rout the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 23, the most unusual thing about the game was the lopsided final score of 62-7.

But for UFO aficionados and paranormal experts who tuned in, they may have seen something in the sky that was even more out-of-the-ordinary than the tossing of more touchdowns vs. incompletions.

As NBC’s cameras returned from a commercial break and focused on the historic, triple-steepled St. Louis Cathedral in the city nicknamed the Big Easy, a couple of lit objects seemed to streak across the darkening sky — and they’ve yet to be definitively identified.

Viewed in real-time, it’s hard to see much more than something flashing across the screen. But a frame-by-frame scrutiny of the video reveals a rod-shaped object topped with brightly lit dots.
